the MIRROR
The installation the MIRROR is being realised on the grassed highway overpass in Jena-Lobeda as part of the architectural competition ”72 Hours Urban Action“. The concept playfully realises the task of ”making pollution great again“.
the MIRROR reacts to the existing situation on site and transforms disruptive motorway noise and constantly prevailing wind into an acoustic and visual wind chime. A filigree mesh structure stretches over the existing seating and the green area next to it, creating a feeling of calm and security without blocking the view into the distance. Light, coloured stripes move gently in the wind and invite residents to linger and listen.
The landscape between the housing estates and the busy motorway creates added value for the town and its users.
